The People Around You Are inside Your Head: Social Environment Shapes the Content of Thought.

Abstract
Three studies demonstrate that the social content of spontaneous thought reflects cues in our social environment. After a day of solitude, social thought during mind wandering decreased, whereas after a period of social interaction, social thought increased. This suggests that spontaneous thought may function to help process available social information.
