Abstract
To investigate patterns of change in sexual satisfaction in early marriage, we analyzed six biyearly reports of spouses. Sexual satisfaction significantly declined over three years with a steeper decline in the first six months. Dispositional and relationship-specific optimism predicted the level of sexual satisfaction, but not the slope over time.
