Organizational Citizenship Behaviors: A Re-Examination of Its Construct Validity and Relationship to Situational, Attitudinal, and Trait Variables

OCB was perceived as part of employee’s formal job requirements versus distinct from everyday job behaviors. Two components of employee empowerment were significant predictors of OCB, as were being rewarded to engage in OCB and satisfaction with co-workers. Four traits from the Five-Factor Model were also significant predictors.
