Investigating the Influence of Interpersonal Closeness on Perceived Distance to a Target Person

Abstract
Although a growing number of studies have illustrated non-visual contributions (i.e. emotional, motivational factors) to spatial perception, across two studies we found no evidence that the degree of psychological closeness to target persons influenced the judged spatial distance to those targets.
