Implicit Bias in Health: Does Patient Ethnicity and Documentation Status Influence Treatment?

Abstract
The effects of patient ethnicity and documentation status on medical trainees’ attitudes and intended treatment were examined. Medical trainees recommended significantly fewer needed tests and treatments for White patients than for minority (Hispanic or Asian) patients and marginally significantly fewer tests and treatments for Hispanic patients than for Asian patients.
