Abstract
The new science of “metabolomics” is aimed at understanding the importance of chemical “fingerprints” left behind by metabolic processes. Here, we use penalised regression to find the blood metabolites that are linked to general intelligence in the Lothian Birth Cohort 1936, a sample of older people in Scotland.
