Abstract
Research suggests that bilingual people show decreased emotional reactivity to stimuli presented in a foreign language (L2), compared to their native language (L1). Findings reveal that bilingual people are able to create psychological distance from threats by shifting the language of their internal dialogue.
Bilingualism
