Gender Differences across Adulthood in Autistic Traits: Divergence Among Core Symptom Domains

The present study examined gender differences in autistic traits within emerging and elderly adults. Males reported more deficits in social behavior than females among older but not younger adults. This effect was reversed for impairment specifically related to communication. Findings demonstrate gender differences are specific to the domain of functioning.
