Abstract

This study examined the impact of muscle dysmorphia on art appreciation style. It found that men with greater muscle dysmorphia symptamology demonstrated creative/emotional art appreciation, but reported having more logical art appreciation. This suggests that men with muscle dysmorphia might be employing a self-defense mechanism to appear more masculine.
