Abstract
Although repetitive reinforcement is key in establishing operant behaviors, such repetition may be subject to habituation and produce reductions in operant responding for weaker, sensory reinforcers. 73 undergraduates completed an operant paradigm using stimulus specificity to assess habituation’s contribution to response decline. Responding patterns supported the role of habituation.
