Abstract

Can educators be expected to know about individual students’ levels of grit, anxiety, self-control, motivation and life skills? This study examines the extent of secondary school teachers’ expertise in this regard. When teachers’ opinions are compared to those of the students themselves, some evidence of a “halo effect” developed.
