Abstract

The effects of context and distractors on McGurk percept were investigated for younger and older adults. Younger adults showed decreased McGurk percept with incongruent context and in the presence of distractors. Older adults showed neither. These results are in line with compensatory attentional mechanisms employed by older adults.
