Abstract

Results indicated gesturers had reduced severity of suicidal thoughts, as they were more likely to endorse passive suicidal thoughts (“I wish I was dead”) whereas attempters more frequently endorsed active suicidal thoughts (“I should kill myself”). However, the groups did not differ on NSSI age of onset or frequency.
