Abstract

The study conducted interviews with eight Muslim, Arab, Syrian refugees adults to investigate stress, coping, and religiosity in refugees' lived experiences. Interviews were coded expecting that Syrian refugees' pre-arrival experiences would influence post arrival attitudes and that refugees who identify strongly with Muslim values would utilize more religiously-oriented coping strategies.
