Abstract
We explored whether the Suicidal Crisis Syndrome mediates the relationship between neuroticism and suicidal thoughts and behavior (STB). Mediation analysis resulted in an insignificant direct effect and a significant indirect effect of crisis symptoms on STB in those with neuroticism. Findings suggest that STB is the result of crisis symptoms.
