Both fixed mindset and maximizing as a decision making approach have been portrayed as maladaptive. A set of survey studies found fixed mindset correlated with maximization and its subscales (e.g., high standards). Measures of maximizing designed to filter out maladaptive aspects were not related to fixed mindset.
