Implications of Growth Mindset for College Students’ Task Value: The Role of Peers

Abstract

The present study examined the effects of the peer context on growth mindset. Participants interacted with peers in either a high growth or high fixed mindset environment and subsequently completed a problem solving task. Growth mindset significantly predicted task value but this effect was dampened by a fixed mindset environment.
