Community College Students’ Perception of Campus Racial Climate and Its Relation to Their Academic Outcomes

One significant aspect of the college environment is racial climate. This study examines the connections between community college students’ perceptions of racial/ethnic discrimination on campus, and academic outcomes. Data were collected on 44 freshmen from a diverse, urban community college. Results are discussed in relation to subtle versus overt racism.
