Abstract

Theory suggests sufficient sleep and positive classroom contexts can support young children’s development of self-regulation skills. In light of this research, the current study investigates whether sleep quantity moderates the relation between classroom characteristics and children’s self-regulatory development within a sample of predominantly low-income, African-American kindergarteners.
