Abstract
Americans are aware of the potential benefits of psychosocial and biomedical interventions for addictions, yet are unaware of the likelihood of natural recovery. Policymakers should educate lay individuals about natural recovery and the ways in which they can best support loved ones who attempt to recover without formal treatment.
