Who Can be a Leader?: How Race Moderates the Expression of Sexism

Abstract
Race is an important moderator in female leaders' experience of backlash. We find that White women, when judged by White participants, experience backlash whereas Black and Asian women do not. This is evidence that racial group membership of targets and perceivers is important in determining backlash that female leaders face.
