Abstract

Our analyses suggest that those with high anxiety and depression report higher amounts of isolation, over-identifying, and self-judgment. Furthermore, only highly depressed individuals reported lower amounts of self-kindness and overall self-compassion. We suggest that this pattern means that self-compassion is a more important determinant of depression than in anxiety.
