It Takes a Village to Save a Life in Northern Uganda: Recommendations on Suicide Risk Mitigation in Depressed Mothers within a Clinical Trial

In an ongoing clinical trial, 1171 pregnant women and recent mothers were recruited to receive depression treatment or health support services in N. Uganda. When over 10% reported suicidality, lay and expert health workers co-developed a culturally adapted suicide safety protocol informed by local idioms of distress, harnessing community resources.
