Abstract
Masculinity threatened men restore their manliness through sexual prejudice. The current study found that after threat, strongly male identified men reported increased toughness, and men who engaged in self-affirmation expressed lower levels of sexual prejudice. Threatened men did not, however endorse greater gender inequality or stereotypically masculine roles.
