Abstract

The present study examined the effects of parenting style and academic goal orientation on academic achievement in university students in Singapore. Findings showed that perceived permissive parenting style was related to lower academic achievement. Furthermore, a Mastery Approach orientation to learning was associated with higher academic achievement.
