Abstract

This research demonstrated that how people conceive of human nature is a strong predictor of multiple components of well-being. Positive beliefs about human nature (especially agency, benevolence, and capacity for change) were strongly associated with several aspects of well-being, including purpose, optimism, positive relationships, and self-acceptance.
