Abstract
We examined the association between mothers’ symptoms of anxiety and depression and positive and negative emotion in their naturalistic speech directed at their infants. Maternal symptoms of anxiety, but not of depression, were associated with positive emotion in their speech; neither symptom domain was associated with negative emotion speech.
