Abstract

This study examined the effects of intrinsic and extrinsic goal framing on performance in native Spanish speakers learning English. Participants read two paragraphs in English, answered comprehension and vocabulary questions, and took a recognition memory test. Extrinsic goal framing resulted in higher comprehension scores, but the difference was not significant.
