Abstract

The present study examined the association between emotional expressiveness within the family and adolescents’ emotional experiences in the United States and China. The findings revealed that positive expressiveness in families predicts adolescents’ positive emotions in both countries, but the effect of negative family expressiveness on positive emotions differs across countries.
