Abstract
Self-discipline had a negative relationship with depression and no relationship with anxiety. Order had a negative relationship with anxiety and no relationship with depression. For shy adolescents, both order and self-discipline were protective against depression, but only order was protective against anxiety. For preference-for-solitude, high order was associated with depression.
