Abstract

Raters are expected to make fair and accurate judgments in evaluating performance. Past research, however, showed that appraisals can be clouded by all kinds of errors and biases. In this research, we demonstrated the effectiveness of source-monitoring training in reducing both negativity bias and halo effects in an appraisal setting.
