Investigating Barriers Associated with Medication Adherence

Abstract

This study identified factors that influence medication adherence. Results revealed that a person’s age, depression, and specific identified barriers (e.g., side effects, forgetfulness, communication issues, and cultural and support issues) are significantly associated with whether or not someone adheres to their medication treatment.
