Abstract

McClelland’s right-hemispheric-hypothesis of implicit-motives states that motives are predominantly represented in the right-hemisphere, thus affect people’s laterality.
We examine in gymnasts weather indicators of right-hemispheric-dominance are linked to higher implicit-motive-levels (Picture-Story-Exercise) and weather implicit-motives contribute to performance.
Results: marginal-positive correlation between achievement-motive and performance-indicators. Power-motive correlates with indicators of right-hemispheric-dominance.
