Abstract

The present study was designed to explore the relationship between construal level, attentional focus, and automatic approach-avoidance to dessert stimuli. Those with higher level construals evidenced an approach bias toward dessert images on a joystick Approach-Avoidance Task, r(95)=.276, p=.007, as did those exhibiting a more global attentional focus r(95)=.198, p=.054.
