Estimates of Direct and Indirect Trauma Exposure and PTSD Prevalence in a National Sample of Polish Adults.

Abstract

The study provides data on trauma exposure and PTSD in national sample: 95% of adults were exposed to at least one type of traumatic event, with the highest prevalence for direct and the lowest for job-related indirect exposure. Preliminary sypmptoms rate was 35,4%. The effects of secondary traumatization are discussed.
