The Importance of Cultural Values in the Stigmatization of Mental Illness

Findings emphasize the importance of personal contact for reducing stigma toward groups and the significant role that cultural values play in stigma toward people with mental illness. Education for both college students as well as mental health professionals will be discussed in light of these findings.
