Coping Strategies Among Farmers at Risk for Suicide in Southern India

Since 1990s, 250,000 Indian farmers have died by suicide. The current study examined coping mechanisms used by farmers of the highest risk category for suicide using the Coping Checklist and PHQ-9. Farmers who used negative coping styles were significantly more likely to endorse suicidal ideation.
