Abstract
Utilizing Life History theory, we explore the influence of a father's harsh childhood (i.e., early trauma and low SES) and parental investment. Fathers interacted with infants as novel stimuli (scary masks) were presented. Fathers were rated on multiple dimensions (e.g., warmth). Fathers that experienced harsher environments demonstrated decreased care.
