Medication Use Outcomes from the Child Steps in California Effectiveness Trial

Abstract
We compared the effects of a modular psychosocial treatment with usual care on youth’s use of psychiatric medications. Results showed that youth who received modular treatment used fewer medications to supplement their psychotherapy than youth who received usual care. There were no differences in medication use following termination from psychotherapy.
