Abstract

Individuals with sensitive temperaments are more vulnerable to depression, especially under poor family cohesion. Cultural values also interact with temperament on influencing individual cognition and emotions. Preliminary analyses indicated that higher family cohesion is related to higher collectivism values, which led to lower depression among individuals with high sensitive temperament.
