Abstract

Why do we remember a funeral and not lunch yesterday? Emotions may influence false memory across development. If false memories rely on gist traces, children should form less false memories than adults. Participants viewed emotional pictures then answered gist/verbatim questions and memory tasks. There were differences between groups across development.
