Abstract

Forty-one elementary students completed measures of EF and persistence. Girls persisted an average of 44.5 seconds longer than boys (r(41)=.331, p=.035). Only 17% of girls did not persist to maximal time, compared to 44% of boys, suggesting that future research explore how differences in gender socialization may influence student engagement.
