Abstract

We assessed whether visual cues of femininity impact ratings of occupation. Results indicated female, feminine faces were less likely to be classified as scientists and software engineers relative to male, masculine faces. Visual cues of femininity may influence the extent to which women are viewed as credible in male-dominated occupations.
