Abstract

Formerly asbestos-exposed workers participating in a health-surveillance program show more symptoms of depression and anxiety when they have actual ventilation disturbances. The diagnosis of non-malignant asbestos-related diseases is not associated with mental health symptoms but with emotional unpleasant states like specific fear of asbestos-related cancer and intrusive thoughts.
