An Examination of the Disparities in White and Black Americans' Perceived Group Status

Abstract
White and Black participants reported their perceptions of societal group status. Results show significant disparities in perceived group status such that the status of Whites was perceived lower by White than by Black Americans. Conversely, the social status of Blacks was perceived higher by White than by Black Americans.
