Abstract

The present study examined the impact of religion on Posttraumatic Stress Disorder symptom severity following sexual abuse and non-sexual abuse. Interestingly, the results showed that religion served as a coping mechanism following sexual abuse. Furthermore, religion and trauma both significantly predicted symptom severity; however, religion did not moderate this relationship.
