Abstract
Students’ decisions to cheat are informed by their knowledge, but they may not understand or agree with their teachers’ definitions of academic misconduct. To investigate why students often lack the necessary knowledge, we collected and analyzed naturalistic data from classroom discussions and course syllabi in university and high school classes.
