Abstract
Chinese-immigrant women’s greater acculturation predicted higher environmental mastery, which in turn predicted less depressive symptoms. Additionally, ethnic identity moderated the association between acculturation and environmental mastery. Specifically, the indirect effect of acculturation on depressive symptoms through environmental mastery was stronger for women with higher levels of ethnic identity.
