Learning to Live Mindfully: Mindfulness Meditation Improves Emotional and Behavioral Regulation for Inmates Transitioning Back to the Community

Abstract
The Mindfulness Meditation project is collaborative clinical service-research project evaluating the effects of a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program for prison inmates transitioning back to the community. Results indicated that program completion was associated with significant improvement in inmates’ emotional and behavioral regulation, mindfulness, and psychological functioning following participation.
