Abstract

This study examined perceived age discrimination among young (n=1264), middle-aged (n=2001), late middle-aged (n=2153), and older (n=1593) adults. Perceived age discrimination predicted poor overall wellbeing, but only among late middle-aged and older adults. Additionally, a sense of community mediated the relationship between perceived age discrimination and wellbeing in both populations.
